EDU 125 - Technology in Instruction
2 Credits
This course is designed to expose students to current technologies used for instruction and learning. Students will have hands-on practice working with various technology tools and will examine practical applications for enhancing the teaching and learning process, as well as the ethical issues and barriers surrounding implementation. Students will become knowledgeable of the NYS Digital Fluency Standards and their role in instruction, as well as assistive technologies and universal design for learning practices that work to improve learning for all students.

Course Learning Outcomes
1.Analyze the impacts of computing and technology on education and society.
2.Utilize tools for computational thinking to solve real-world educational problems.
3.Evaluate various hardware, software and networks that are utilized in teaching and learning.
4.Apply practices of effective cybersecurity.
5.Develop digital literacy skills necessary to teach PK-12 students how to use technology to effectively acquire and communicate information.
